90 Day Fiancé star Chantel Everett surprised fans this week by asking them to donate $50,000 through a GoFundMe campaign.
GoFundMe donation requests have always rubbed the 90-Day Fiancé fans the wrong way, especially since many are struggling financially in today's economy and are not in the mood to hear about D-list celebrities asking for money.
Chantel doesn't need the money for herself. She's doing well in her career as a nurse injector and has used her fame from the show to grow her business. The request she made was for a close friend of her brother. This friend, Zack Myers, recently fell off a roof and suffered a severe brain injury, resulting in numerous medical bills that he cannot afford to pay.
In her recent Instagram post, Chantel explained that Zack Myers is a married father of two, and they are going through a difficult time due to his unexpected severe brain injury. She mentioned that Zack does not need surgery after undergoing many medical checks, but his road to recovery and rehabilitation is long and will require funds that he and his family cannot provide. Chantel's plea for donations was heartfelt, emphasizing the urgent need for financial support to help Zack and his family during this challenging period.
Despite the good intentions behind Chantel's request, the reaction from fans has been mixed. Many fans are sympathetic to Zack's situation but are frustrated by the trend of reality TV stars asking for money. Some fans feel that Chantel, given her successful career and business, should be able to support her friend's medical expenses without turning to the public for help.
